Buckingham Palace says the Queen whom is 96 years old and Britain’s longest reigning sovereign, died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

Prime minister Liz Truss gave a tribute speech to the nation at 7pm.

Prince Charles III is Now the King of England.

The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

A special ceremony to officially proclaim title on Saturday. At age 73, he is the oldest person to ever assume the British throne.

Prince William is now the Duke of Cornwall. And then will become Prince of Wales.

What happens now the Queen died?

The day that Queen Elizabeth II dies will trigger a process known as ‘Operation London Bridge’, an official series of plans that has been in place since 1960.

The Queen will be buried arounf 10 days after her death.

King Charles will set off on a tour of the UK.

The Duke of Cambridge, Duke of York and Earl and Countess of Wessex have all touched down in Aberdeen, Scotland, this afternoon after flying via RAF plane.

Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Andrew are now at Balmoral where she greeted the new prime minister, Liz Truss, on Tuesday. Prince Harry is on his way.

Watford pays Tributes

Peter Taylor – I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth II who passed away at Balmoral earlier today. Her Majesty the Queen dedicated her life to our country and the Commonwealth, and we unite as a nation to mourn her passing and to show our gratitude for her lifetime of outstanding service.

The chairman of the Watford Labour party, Cllr Asif Khan, said he was “saddened and heartbroken”, adding: “It marks an end of era and magnificent reign unlike any other in history.”

Other famous Watfordians, including boxer Anthony Joshua, YouTuber KSI, Spice Girl Geri Horner, also took to social media to pay their respects.
