Video of damaged sustained by all Cars.
Police attempted to stop a stolen VW Golf car in Hempstead Road, Watford, just before 3.30pm today.
However the thieves did not want to stop and tried to getaway whilst pursued by police.
Just before 4pm a loud crash was heard by nearby Tesco shop staff at St Albans road, when the vehicle then collided with a police car on the other side of the road.
A man and woman travelling in the black Vauxhall were put in the ambulance and later taken to hospital. It is not known what injuries have been suffered.
A witness heard that the driver was not insured, and was being chased by Police.
The car being chased appears to have collided with an oncoming car on the opposite side of the road, that had polish number plates.
The police car had its bumper torn off, but not know exactly how at this stage, but one witness said they went into the back of the car it was chasing.
Police did a good job in minimizing limitations for access to local roads, with the cordon not stretching the whole length of the busy road as it first was all the way to the Dome Roundabout on the A41.
A local witness says Car was Stolen in a burglary in Abbots Langley the night before.
A man was arrested and in custody. Investigation is ongoing.
