The event which was last on in 1979, had an unexpectedly huge turnout of visitors which meant the car parking was streched to full capacity.

Visitors could walk the taxiway which had been opened up to create plenty of space to get you closer to the aircraft during the event. Plus games and entertainment for children and food from local vendors.
Small groups of visitors were being allowed a peek inside the Air Control Tower and the guide explained how it all worked. Inquisitive guests had their questions answered.
Around the side an Aircraft hanger with engineers was open.
