Liberal Democrat London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon presented the petition signed by over 6,000 people to the Greater London Authority this morning on behalf of the Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor calling for Watford stations to be brought into Zone 6 OF Transport for London’s network, to reduce price.
Cllr Ian Stotesbury said, 'Right now we're getting a raw deal in Watford when it comes to how much local commuters fork out in train fares. We're paying as much as £1000 a year more than commuters in Epping, who live further out of London.
Peter says "Thank you to the nearly 6000 residents who have signed. We deserve fairer fares for our town."
The Zone map shows the high street and Bushey are way up in Zone 8.
