Man charged with public order and terrorism offences

Sean Creighton, 44 (20.09.71) of Bowood Road, Enfield was charged on Wednesday, 31 August and remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 1 September in relation to the following charges:

- Four counts of publishing or distributing written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting, intending thereby to stir up racial hatred, contrary to section 19, Public Order Act 1986;

- Three counts of publishing or distributing written material which is threatening, intending thereby to stir up religious hatred or hatred on grounds of sexual orientation, contrary to section 27C, Public Order Act 1986;

- One count of possession of written material which is threatening, with a view to it being displayed or distributed whether by himself or another, intending thereby to stir up religious hatred, contrary to section 29G, Public Order Act 1986;

- One count of possession of written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting, with a view to it being displayed or distributed, whether by himself or another, intending racial hatred to be stirred up thereby, or having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred was likely to be stirred up thereby, contrary to section 23, Public Order Act 1986;

- One count of without reasonable excuse, collected or made a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 of Terrorism Act 2000.
